About Social Places:
Social Places is a location management and reputation marketing platform helping multi-location brands manage listings, reputation, and localised marketing at scale across Google Maps, Apple Maps, Facebook, and major review and social media platforms. We are investing in AI-driven internal tooling and automation to improve how our teams work.
Role and responsibilities:
This is a hands-on role responsible for designing, building and deploying AI-powered internal tools and automation systems. You will report to the CTO and work closely with the GM and team leaders to automate processes and integrate systems across the organisation.
This role is focused on internal systems and operational efficiency and does not involve building core product features for the Social Places platform.

Key responsibilities:
Design and build AI-powered internal tools, automation pipelines and agentic workflows
Build full-stack internal applications and user interfaces
Integrate internal systems and SaaS tools (Monday.com, HubSpot, Xero) using APIs
Review internal tools developed by teams and guide best practices
Help define standards for secure and scalable AI implementations
Example projects:
Automating billing and reconciliation between HubSpot and Xero
Building AI-powered internal assistants and reporting pipelines
Building agentic workflows that interact with internal systems
Technical requirements:
2+ years development experience
Qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Stack experience:
Python, Vue 3, PHP (advantageous)
GitHub / version control, Docker, AWS or similar cloud
API integrations and SaaS platform APIs (Monday.com, HubSpot, Xero)
Must have built:
Full-stack applications
Internal tools
Automation systems
Production-ready applications from concept to deployment
AI development experience:
Hands-on experience building real AI-enabled systems, including:
Integrating LLM APIs and building agentic AI workflows
Designing prompt pipelines with user interfaces
Deploying AI applications into production
Managing token usage and API costs
Using Claude Code in real development environments (CLI, MCP servers, skills, agentic workflows)
Structuring reusable AI workflows shareable across teams
Applicants should demonstrate real projects built end-to-end.
AI Governance and security:
Understanding of AI guardrails, responsible implementation, secure handling of company data, privacy considerations, and governance practices for internal AI tools.
Reporting and business value:
Track and report on AI tool usage, token consumption, and API costs
Produce Cost and Efficiency Reports in business terms – time saved, error reduction, operational benefits
Measure and present ROI of AI investments in non-technical language
Location:
Remote within South Africa, Cape Town office available for collaboration.
