Uberall manages your pages. We manage your local presence.
Uberall is a strong platform, and on several rows below it is ahead of us. GEO Studio tracks up to nine AI assistants where our tracker covers two. UB-I can execute listing and review work automatically inside permissions you set. Its local pages ship today; ours are coming. Where the two genuinely diverge is the breadth of what someone else runs for you. Uberall’s documented managed service builds, hosts and maintains your locator and local pages — the recurring listings, reputation and social work stays with your team, with UB-I helping. At Social Places that work is the engagement.

After you sign, who actually does this work?
Local marketing at scale is not a feature list, it is a standing workload. Here is the recurring work a multi-location brand carries either way, and who carries it under each model.
| Recurring work | With Social Places | With Uberall |
|---|---|---|
| Claiming and verifying every location | Our team claims and verifies each location across Google, Apple, Bing, HERE, TomTom and Facebook, and runs Google re-verification directly with Google and with your store managers.New single locations approx. 1–2 weeks | Your team, with UB-I identifying inaccurate data and preparing corrections — applied on your approval, or automatically within permissions you configure. |
| Cleansing and verifying location data | Our team cleanses data per platform, verifies manually including Street View, and works with your ops teams on hard cases such as in-mall sites.Bulk cleansing 2–4 weeks | UB-I flags missing attributes and prepares the fixes; your team approves them or lets them run. |
| Special trading hours before public holidays | Our team requests your holiday hours ahead of each public holiday and applies them across every listing, so you are not fielding “are they open?” on the day. | Your team, per holiday, per location. |
| Finding and suppressing rogue pages | Rogue Page Finder, plus our team manually searching for unauthorised pages, reporting them and managing takedowns on an ongoing basis. | Your team, with duplicate suppression handled inside listings management. |
| Routine listing updates | Send a request or push via API; our team makes the change and checks it went live correctly across channels.Single updates 24–48 hours · bulk 1–2 weeks | Your team in the dashboard, or UB-I executing the change within your configured permissions. |
| Photo deployment across platforms | Our team deploys profile and cover imagery across every location and platform.Bulk via API 48–72 hours | Your team. |
| Review responses in your brand tone | Our team builds your response templates and AI prompts so every reply sounds like you.Setup 1–2 weeks Having our team write the responses themselves is an optional add-on. | UB-I drafts the responses; they publish on your approval, or automatically if you enable it. |
| Critical cases and escalations | Red flags configured for your industry, then our team monitors them, follows up with your stakeholders and reports back on actions and outcomes. A named account manager owns it. | The platform surfaces and prioritises issues by expected impact; your team owns the follow-up and the outcome. |
| Stakeholder reporting | Our team builds the custom reports for your strategy sessions and roadshows, and sets up scheduled delivery per stakeholder group.Custom reports 2-week lead time | Your team builds them from the analytics, or asks an MCP-connected assistant. |
The Social Places column reflects managed services and turnaround times in our current service schedule; exact scope is confirmed per brand in your agreement, and turnaround varies with task complexity. The Uberall column describes its published operating model and is not a claim that Uberall cannot perform this work. Its documented managed service covers the locator and local pages, which Uberall builds, hosts and maintains. Whether listings, reputation or social execution is managed for a given brand is set by that agreement rather than by the public product description.
Let’s be straight about the overlap
Uberall is the closest competitor to what we do, and much of this comparison is a tie or a loss for us. Both cover the core of multi-location local marketing, and on feature count Uberall is ahead in places. These are table stakes for both:
Six differences, and we lose two of them.
Only the rows where the two genuinely differ. We would rather show you the ones that go against us than have you find them yourself.
| Difference | Social Places | Uberall |
|---|---|---|
| Breadth of what is managed for you | Broader Our team executes listings, reputation and social as standard, with a named account manager owning the outcome. | The documented managed offering is that Uberall builds, hosts and maintains your locator and local pages. Ongoing listings, reputation and social execution is not described as a standard managed service. |
| AI visibility coverage | Our AI Visibility Tracker scores ChatGPT and Gemini per location and benchmarks you against a competitor set. Two assistants, not nine. | Ahead GEO Studio names up to nine assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek — with share of voice, citations and source analysis. Coverage depends on the plan. |
| Pages for every product or service | Coming soon. AI Product Pages will auto-generate a hyper-local page for every location-and-product combination. Not yet generally available — so don’t buy us for this today. | Shipping Locator & Local Pages creates pages at scale for individual locations with intent-driven content, synced automatically from Listings. |
| What happens to your listing claims if you leave | Yours We set up your platform accounts and users in your name during onboarding, so the profiles and the claims on them sit with you throughout and after. | Uberall’s developer documentation states that once a location becomes inactive it will not be synced anymore, claims of listings will be released where possible. That is documented product behaviour, not a statement that publishers delete anything. |
| Listening beyond your own reviews | Broader Brand Listening monitors news, blogs, forums, social platforms and reviews, picks up mentions that never tag your handles, and compares sentiment and share of voice against a competitor set, by brand, platform and location. | GEO Studio monitors social sources including Reddit, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn, and reports the traits and descriptions AI assistants attach to your brand, with competitor comparison. Its documented focus is the conversation that shapes AI answers rather than general-purpose listening. |
| How you are charged | One custom price per brand, tiered by volume, covering the software and the managed team. Managed review responses are the one add-on. We do not publish a rate card. | Modular: Show Up, Stand Out and Connect packages with add-ons, committed location quantities and usage-based fees. GEO Studio is priced separately, with published entry tiers from about $109 a month. |

What one price covers. Listings, reputation and brand sentiment, local social, your store locator, AI visibility tracking and reporting with AI-written summaries sit in one dashboard, run by one team, under one price. Brand sentiment is not a separate product here: the same workspace that shows how each location is performing also shows what people are saying about it, and what our team did about it this month. Managed review responses are the one add-on. Ask every vendor on your shortlist — us included — which of those sit in the core price and which are separate modules or usage-based fees, then compare the two quotes on the same scope.
Compare total cost, not licence cost.
The licence is the easy part
Both platforms quote per brand or per location. That number is comparable, and it is also the part of the decision least likely to surprise you later.
The hours are the hard part
Add the internal hours: claiming and verifying, chasing holiday trading hours, triaging escalations, building the board report. On a self-serve model that work does not disappear — it moves onto your team’s calendar or onto a services line item.
Ask both vendors the same question
“For our location count, what will my team still be doing every week, and what does it cost to have you do it instead?” Compare the two answers side by side. We will put ours in writing.
Moving from Uberall? We do the heavy lifting.
Every Social Places client gets free white-glove onboarding with a dedicated Onboarding Manager, so changing platforms does not mean adding work for your team.
We audit and plan the move
We audit your current listings, reviews and local pages, identify what can be migrated or retained and what is tied to your existing platform, and plan the transition around it. What carries over depends on access and integrations, so we tell you up front rather than after.
We claim and verify
Your Onboarding Manager claims and verifies every location in accounts set up in your name, configures your users and permissions, cleanses the data and deploys profile and cover photos across platforms.
We run it from day one
Your account manager and team take over day-to-day listings, reputation monitoring and social, so you switch without adding headcount.
Brands rely on Social Places to run their local presence.
Uberall vs Social Places, answered.
What is the real difference between Uberall and Social Places?
How much of the recurring work sits with someone else. Both cover listings, reputation, social, local pages, AI visibility tracking and AI agents, and on several of those Uberall is ahead of us. Uberall’s published managed offering is that it builds, hosts and maintains your locator and local pages, with UB-I identifying inaccurate data and preparing or applying corrections inside permissions you configure. The ongoing listings, reputation and social execution stays with your team. At Social Places that execution is the engagement: a dedicated team and a named account manager claim and verify locations, cleanse data, apply special trading hours, suppress rogue pages, configure your review responses, follow up on critical cases and build your stakeholder reports. Managed review responses are our one add-on.
Where is Uberall better than Social Places?
Two places, and we would rather say so here than have you find them in a demo. Uberall’s GEO Studio tracks up to nine AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek — with share of voice, citations and source analysis; our AI Visibility Tracker covers ChatGPT and Gemini. And Uberall’s Locator & Local Pages creates per-location pages at scale today, while our AI Product Pages, which will generate a page for every location-and-product combination, are still coming. If either of those is the deciding factor for you, buy on it.
What will my team still have to do with Social Places?
You stay the decision-maker: approving brand tone and content, supplying trading-hour changes and new store data, and owning the relationship with your franchisees. What you hand over is the execution and the chasing. If a location fails Google verification, if a rogue page appears, if a critical review lands on a Sunday, that is our team’s to resolve and report back on rather than another task on your marketing manager’s list.
Who owns the listings and data if I leave?
Your platform accounts and users are set up in your name during onboarding, so your Google Business Profiles, listings, reviews and location data are owned by you throughout and remain yours if you leave, including the optimisations we have made to those profiles. Uberall’s own developer documentation says that once a location becomes inactive it will not be synced anymore and claims of listings will be released where possible — documented product behaviour, not a claim that publishers delete anything. Neither vendor controls what a publisher does once syncing stops, so the question worth asking both of us is who holds the account the listing lives in, and you should get the post-termination terms in writing before you sign.
How does pricing compare?
The structures differ more than the numbers. Uberall sells modular packages — Show Up, Stand Out and Connect — with add-ons, committed location quantities and usage-based fees, and GEO Studio priced separately with published entry tiers from about $109 a month. Social Places quotes one custom price per brand, tiered by volume so the rate per location drops as the estate grows, covering the software and the managed team, with managed review responses the one add-on. We do not publish a rate card. The comparison worth making is total cost: platform fees, every module and usage line, and the internal hours each model still asks of your team.
Is Social Places a global alternative to Uberall?
Yes. Social Places supports multi-location and franchise brands across 80+ countries, keeping 30,000+ locations accurate, through its own team and international partners, with offices in San Francisco, London, Cape Town and Sydney. Founded in South Africa, it operates worldwide. Uberall is European-headquartered and global too; the difference is not reach but whether the people doing the work are inside your agreement.
